Creativity is an important aspect of being human and an objective in preschool. Studies have shown that children with disabilities are often limited in expressing creativity rather than being limited in their ability to be creative. Constructive play is a type of innovative play through which children can learn how to problem solve, understand their world, express themselves and develop their creativity. This paper reviews research that has been done outside of Vietnam concerning the development of creativity in children through play. It also provides before play, during play and after play strategies.
