Beside functions and tasks as the cadre to defend sovereignty, sovereign rights in the country's sea and island areas, the Navy Force is also an important component for. controlling marine pollution, overcoming environmental risks, seeking, rescue, and saving on the sea. On the country's Doi Moi progress, the Navy Force always pays attention to combine the marine environment protection with it's political tasks. Recently. under leadership and guidance of Navy's Party Committee and High Command, the relevant departments of state management in the marine environment protection have tried to overcome the difficulties for completing their tasks, .and have achieved some encouraged results. However, facing to the challenges and shortcomings, the Navy Force is demanded to have greater enforces, and needs to be supported comprehensively from the institutions inside and outside of the army force.
