Species composition of aquatic insect was investigated in Bach Ma National Park, Thua Thien Hue province. A total 42 species of aquatic insects were. recorded such as Ephemeroptera 27 species occupying 64.29 percent. Next is the Trichoptera with 6 species (14.29 percent) and Plecoptera with 9 species (21.42 percent). The Heptageniidae (Ephemeroptera) is the most dominant with 6 species (14.29 percent). followed by Baetidae (Ephemeroptera) and Perlidae (Plecoptera) has 5 species (11.90 percent). Apply the Shannon-Weiner species diversity index (H') to assess the potential value of biodiversity, The result show that the diversity index (H') varies from 0.95 (site M3) to 2.72 (site M1).
