Surveys for LF were conducted in 6 districts of 4 provinces in the PELF from December 2010 to March 2011 for 6-7 children years old. Testing 2041 children by night blood smear, no positive case was found in two North districts, where B. malayi was endemic. In four South districts, where W. bancrofti was endemic, testing 3455 children by ICT, detected 1 positive case with rate 0.1 percent. After 5 rounds of mass drug administration, the LF prevalence has been reduced to below threshold level. Base on World Health Organization recommendation, Vietnam need to conduct some activities to go forward to announce elimination Lymphatic Filariasis.
