Hang Kia-Pa Co Nature Reserve has high diversity of medicinal plants. The survey results identified 508 species, 131 familes in 5 divisions. Among them 22 species are rare and precious plants for conservation, including 15 species are listed in the Vietnam Red Data Book (2007), 5 species in IUCN Red List (2010), 7 species in the Governmental Decree No.32/2006/ND-CP. The Magnoliophyta is the most diverse with 482 species, 331 genera and 118 families. In the Magnoliophyta, the high diversity belongs to class Magnoliopsida with 413 species, 282 genera and 96 families. The species-rich families are Euphorbiaceae, Asteraceae, Rubiaceae, Rutaceae. Moraceae,…andthe species-rich genera are Ficus, Solanum… The most used are herbaceous plants with 173 species that mainIy distribute in forest; leaves are the most used part (with 183 species). Some solutions for medicinal plant conservation are proposed in this paper.
