From the etylacetate extract of red linzhi Ganoderma tropicum collected from Cat Tien National Park, Lam Dong province, ergosterol (1), 3beta, 12beta-dihydroxy-7, 11, 15,23-tetraoxo-5alpha-lanost-8-ene-26-oic acid (2) and 3beta, 5alpha, 6beta-trihydroxy-7,22-ergostadien (3) have been isolated for the first time from red linhzhi G. tropicum. Their structures were determined by IR, MS and 20 NMR spectroscopy. Compound 2 inhibited strongly KB cells growth with IC50 of 9 ug/ml, meanwhile compound 3 did not show any activity (IC50 128 ug/ml).
