Laparoscopic cholecystectomy for treatment of acute calculous cholecystitis within 72 hours, espectially within 24 hours from the first symptom of disease, it resulted in shorter operating time, less pain, sooner breaking wind, fewer intra-operatve accidents and early postoperative complications, shorter total hospital stay. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy for treatment of acute calculous cholecystitis is difficult, but safe. The sucessful rate was 95,1 percent, the! accident rate was 18,2 percent,. The postoperative complication rate was 14,3 percent, mainly minimal complications. The mean operative time was 67,06 + or - 16,18 minutes. The mean total hospital stay was 10,48 + or - 4,50 days. The good result when discharge from hospital was 84,6 percent and no mortality.
