Study was conducted in 2012 on 219 chidren of 6-36 month of age in 2 communes Thanh Gong and Phuc Thuan belonged to Pho Yen district, Thai Nguyen province. This is cross-sectional study with objectives to decrible the anemia due to iron deficiency and vitamin A deficiency among studied children. Results and Discussion: Prevalence of anemia among studied children in 2 communes is very high (79.9 percent), mainly with moderate level (58.9 percent) and the prevalence of anemia is highest and most severe in children aged 6-12 months. There is trend in reduction of prevalence of anemia in group of older age children. The prevalence of anemia in Thanh Gong commune is higher compared to Phuc Thuan commune. The prevalence of subclinical vitamin A deficiency in 2 communes is 12.3 percent and lower WHO classification of public health significance problem, nevertheless there is 0.9 percent of children with severe vitamin A deficiency and vitamin A deficiency is mainly in children aged 6-12 months and there is no significantly difference in prevalence of vitamin A deficiency between 2 communes (p0.05).
