The system of non-public universities which had nearly three decades of establishment and development, has been making many significant contributions to Vietnam’s higher education. However, the progress of existing and developing of this system could not avoid the influence of subjective and objective factors, including psychological - social aspects. In this article, the psychological - social factors were analyzed as the impacts which delayed the development of Non-public university. The social tradition conceptions in training quality, training costs, capacity of lecturers, working motivation of lecturers, the willingness in cooperating between families and schools,... Therefore, identifying and understanding the causes of these psychological - social impacts to education could further contribute for the Non-public systems. As well as, the non-public universities could either have the solutions to reduce the negative influences, or contribute further improving the quality and brand name of whole Non-punlic education system in particular, and higher education system in our country in general.
