In mechanical engineering, reverse engineering (RE) is a new solution for the process of designing, and technology CAD/CAM will be the next step of realizing the process of designing. The combination of RE and CAD/CAM launches design solutions, produces free form surfaces by a non-traditional way, shortens time of designing, and simplifies manufacturing technology. In this paper, the authors present a research on non-traditional method which applies reverse engineering and technology CAD/CAM in designing, manufacturing and measuring free form surfaces in Vietnam, today. The authors had verified experimentally by turbine model, which supported by Rapidform, Geometric, Catia V5 and Mastercam V9.
