Thispaper estimates the impact of integrity education and integrity awareness on bribe-giving among young people using data from the Youth Integrity Survey and Viet Nam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index. Empirical results show that (i) young people who participated in integrity education and those with better integrity awareness positively associate with the probability of corruption; (ii) young people with better behavioural intention of integrity have a lower probability of corruption; and (iii) the impact of integrity education on the corruption among young people decrease in the provinces with higher corruption control index. These findings imply an existing gap between integrity education, integrity awareness, and corruption behaviours, thus provide evidence for the need of new designs of integrity education programs and anti-corruption agenda for the Vietnamese young people.
