Aim: To assess the result of blood seNice in Phu Quoc general hospital from 2009 to 2013. Method: Retrospective research basing on patient records. Results: Ensure of stably supplying 1.418 units of blood and blood components for 611 patients; almost blood and blood components were from Kien Giang hospital, 216 blood units were from walk-in blood donors and patients' family. The highest rate of blood use was in emergency cases (69.9 percent), no adverse reaction was recognised. Conclusion: The hospital successfully applied two methods to ensure blood safety, that was stable supplying and reasonable use of blood and blood components.
