Dính lưỡi là một tình trạng mà đầu lưỡi không thể đưa ra ngoài răng cửa hàm dưới do phanh lưỡi ngắn. Dính lưỡi làm trẻ khó hoạt động lưỡi, gây ra các vấn đề như khó ăn, khó bú, rối loạn phát âm và các vấn đề xã hội. Nghiên cứu được tiến hành trên 166 trẻ dưới 24 tháng tuổi tại phòng khám của khoa Răng Hàm Mặt, bệnh viện Nhi Trung ương từ tháng 7/2019 đến tháng 3/2020. Trẻ được thu thập thông tin về tiền sử bú mẹ, khám lâm sàng giải phẫu chức năng lưỡi và quan sát hoạt động bú mút theo thang điểm của Martinelli. Kết quả cho thấy tỷ lệ trẻ được chỉ định phẫu thuật chiếm 72,3%. Nghiên cứu cũng nhận thấy trẻ nhỏ có bệnh dính lưỡi rất khó thăm khám và không dễ đưa ra chỉ định phẫu thuật bằng các phân độ của trẻ lớn. Vì vậy cần khai thác và chấm điểm tiền sử bú mẹ, khám lâm sàng, quan sát hoạt động bú mút để đưa ra chỉ định phẫu thuật phù hợp.
