The main purposes of wood modification are to enhance strength and durability by mean of increasing biological resistance and to improve wood properties such as dimensional stability, mechanical properties and photostability to respect the specifications of the wood industry particularly the fumit\lre industry. The main objective of this paper will be to present some results of studying on acacia hybrid wood modificaton by chemical impregnation with neutralized low molecular phenol-formaldehyde resin, which will penetrate into wood cell walls. The study results showed that the MOR. MOE, longitudinal compression and tensile strength of the modified wood is increased depending on the impregnation time and pressure retained. At 3 hours impregnation time and pressure of 0.6 Mpa the modified wood's - MOR increased by 67 percent, MOE by 97 percent, the longitudinal compression strength by 12 percent, and the longitudinal tensile strength by 37 percent.
