Monitoring forest types by remote sensing analysis using supervised classification method and indicator NDVI for building map. Supervised classification method is implemented by maximum likelihood and survey in 60 points and 10 plots. The result shows that total of forest land is 5526.14 hectares, non - forest area is 1202.44 hectares, forest area is 4323.7 hectares. Riverhead protective forest map was overlayed by four layers which are elevation map, slope map, rain fall map and soil map. The result illustrates that: 3 different levels was identified, the least important watershed area is 325.93 hectares about 5.9 percent total area, important watershed area is 3774.20 hectares about 68.3 percent total area and the most important watershed area is 1426.01 hectares about 25.8 percent total area.
