Describe the external quality assessment results of blood transfusion tests in some blood transfusion laboratories in 2022. Methods: Cross – sectional survey. Each laboratory received 2 sets of standard samples from 2 production batches at 2 different times (on May 2022 and June 2022) without reference results. Laboratories performed tests on standard samples and sent the results to the NIHBT. Results: There were 21 laboratories participating in the external quality assessment program. Tulip (India) was the biological products which was the most used in laboratories, following by Ortho (USA), Spectrum (Egypt), CE (Germany), PolysPez (Germany), Across (Turkey). ABO blood grouping, Rh(D) blood grouping, direct Coombs test and irregular antibody screening test had high correct rates (85.7%, 100%, 100%, and 95%, respectively, for the batch. No. 1 and 100%, 100%, 100%, 90%, respectively, for the batch No. 2). Irregular antibody identification test and cross-match test had low correct rates, especially cross-match test (lot 1: 80.9%, lot 2: 60%).
