The callous - unemotional (CƯ) traits has been studied in a number of developed countries and documented in The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5). However, there has been no research on this topic conducted in Vietnam. This study aimed to examine the effect of CD traits on aggressive behavior among high school students in Vietnam. This was a cross- sectional study which was observed on 644 students and used a self-reported scales of CƯ traits and peer aggression. The results showed that the total score of CƯ traits in boys was higher than girls, but the total score of aggression was higher among girls than boys. CƯ traits were found to be positively correlated with and predict variability in aggressive behavior. However, only interactions between gender and callousness have an effect on relational aggression. This study has implications for clinicians working with aggressive adolescents, at the same time opening up a new psychological research in Vietnam.
