Applications of inducing mutation and marker assisted selection are very effective in breeding. Abundant of variations have been created from irradiation, outdistance from backcross method. MAS is helpful in breeding target traits forward and exactly. Seeds of TL6.2 line (with Saltol gene) had been irradiated by gamma rays (60Co) in Hanoi Irradiation Center, at 2 types: dried seed (200 Gy, 250 Gy, 300 Gy), 48 hours soaked seed (150 Gy, 200 Gy, 250 Gy). From generations M1 to M5 have been planted and evaluated in Institute of Agricultural Genetics. Five promising lines have been selected from 32 lines in M5 generation by MAS, greenhouse testing and field evaluating. All of them have salinity tolerance, good agronomic traits and high yield.
